With his signing with the Giants being the first in his professional career, Salmon is keen to show Giants team mates, fans and the SBL what he’s made of.

“As a player I see myself as someone who do a little bit of everything on the court, pass, dribble, score, defend and rebound” Salmon said.
“ I’m trying to work on the complete aspect of my game as much as possible.”

“I fit in with the modern day game as the hybrid four-man type, as I can put it on the floor, get in the post, shoot the pick and pop and even guard most positions.”

“As a team mate I’m very easy going, a bit energetic and I love seeing the success for others as well as myself. I hope to bring the energy and my skill set in which ever way possible to win games this season”

“I’m working hard currently, staying in shape, getting in the weight room, some beach workouts and plenty of court work. I hope Australia accepts me with open arms, I’m excited to be there and start winning some games for the Giants!”

Giants head coach Wayne Creek echoed the sentiments of Salmon in regards to his recruitment.

“Marquis looks like an ideal fit for our current team make-up. He’s a tough rebounder and defender, has good size and should anchor that middle for us for the season.”

“He’s high energy and should fit in well alongside our new and returning players. I think Giants fans will really love him and what he brings to the club”

Salmon is due to arrive in the Goldfields in early February in preparation for the upcoming 2019 season which gets underway on the 16th of March.
